Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Sedgwick
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
I was a lawyer in the United Kingdom, and then moved to the South of France many years ago to be with my beloved Annette. When in France, I wanted to do anything other than the law not behave illegally or unlawfully (!) but to do different work using the skills I had from being a lawyer and mediator. So, I had my own radio show, and internet tv show, and worked in events, including being an international press conference moderator for the London Olympics, and talent management for various events all over the world. I then started teaching public speaking at the International University of Monaco, and developed training and teaching in presentation skills for the university, the International School of Monaco, corporations, associations and individuals to help people build their confidence, and their effectiveness when they speak either in person or on camera. This training, teaching and coaching led me to be hailed as The Communications Guru globally, as my methods and technique have inspired and motivated people to be the best they can be with power and belief in themselves. I decided this year that I wanted to help people in a deeper way, by sharing my vulnerability in my life and the many situations of change that I have experienced, and what I have learned, to show that in doing so, there is strength, and to give people practical advice and steps for them to communicate through the same or similar experiences of change for themselves,
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
My recently launched book “Communicating Through Change”, a Bestseller on Amazon shows how I have been through a lot of trauma and challenges, but I have always come through them with positivity, strength, courage, and the loving support of my parents, my spouse, and friends and family, whom I cherish and appreciate.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I help people to communicate effectively and with impact, with confidence and belief in themselves, whether it be on camera or in person. Everyone who works with me becomes a member of Team Alicia, and that means they are in an environment where they are nurtured, cared for, and not judged. They are free to be themselves without fear, worry, anxiety or inhibition. They are supported. I make people feel that they are able to be themselves and the best of themselves, and that everything I do is to help them move forward to being stronger, confident, and powerful. My training, coaching, and teaching is empowering. With my book, “Communicating Through Change,” I am taking my readers even further towards being able to communicate their way through the many change challenges I write about, such as divorce, bereavement, work, study, living through a pandemic, and to enable them to embrace change, with acceptance and acknowledgement, and learn, grow, and move forward to being stronger. They can learn from my experience, and they are given practical techniques and guidance to apply to their lives. All with my support and care as always in all my training and teaching.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
Be true to themselves. Be authentic.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
That you are true to yourself and in being so, you are then true to others.
What’s next for you?
Helping people even more, globally, through my book and the teaching from that, and my communications training and coaching.
Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more.
